Prof. Josephine Ngaira of MMUST Leads Humanitarian Intervention Outreach for People With Disability in Manda- Shivanga Ward, Kakamega County

On 15^th July, 2022, Prof. Josephine Ngaira of MMUST led a technical team from the School of Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance (SDMHA) to conduct a humanitarian Intervention Outreach for People Living with Disability (PLWD) in Manda-Shivanga Ward, Kakamega County. The event, which took place at Tombo Community Dispensary, was organized by Prof. Josephine Ngaira together with the Coordinator, outreaches in the School, Dr. Ferdinand Nabiswa. Dr. Nabiswa is also the Coordinator, Kenya Red Cross, Bungoma and Trans-Nzoia Counties. This initiative attracted key players including medical officers from the University clinic, experts from the Department of Health Promotion and Sports Science as well as a group of SDMHA students currently on attachment at the Kenya Red Cross, Kakamega branch.

The education Fair was organized by the Nation Media Group in conjunction with the Commission for University Education (CUE) and Technical and Vocational Education Training Authority (TVETA).

MMUSO Leaders Undergo Intensive Induction Training to Foster Transformative Leadership in the University

Masinde Muliro University Student Organisation (MMUSO) leaders are currently undergoing an intensive induction training to foster transformative leadership in the institution. The five-day workshop which kicked off yesterday, Tuesday 12^th July 2022 is being conducted at the Kisumu Hotel-Kisumu County. The training will run until Friday 15^th July 2022.

MMUST Students to Get Industry Links as the University Begins MOU Talks With Innovative Academic Placement Solutions

Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology’s students are set to get industry connections as talks to collaborate with Innovative Academic Placement Solutions (INAPS) kick off. On Tuesday, 5^th July, 2022, MMUST hosted the President and Founder-CEO, INAPS, Ms. Emma Njiru, to discuss the details of the partnership as well as the possible areas of collaboration.

Ms. Njiru, who was accompanied by INAPS Chief Regional Advisor, Mr. Juvenal Araka, was received by MMUST’s Acting Registrar (Planning, Research and Innovation), Prof. Alice Chesambu Ndiema, and the Acting Director, International Relations and Academic Linkages, Dr. Ferdinand Nabiswa.

MMUST Conducts Defensive Driving Training for Its Drivers to Improve Competencies and Curb Possible Road Hazards

Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, on 30^th June 2022 conducted a three-day Defensive Driving Training for its drivers. The training which was carried out in conjunction with Automobile Association of Kenya will equip MMUST drivers with a set of road skills, strategies and techniques. They will also improve their competencies and be aware of the possible road hazards.

MMUST Students Among the 5,500 to Benefit From Collaboration With Light for the World Futuremakers-inclusive Employability Project!

Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) students are among the five thousand five hundred (5,500) students set to benefit from the ‘Future Makers Inclusive Employability’ programme by Light for the World (LFTW) organization. This was evident during the project’s official launch at Shieywe Guest House, Kakamega on 28th June, 2022.The event was coordinated through MMUST’s Directorate of Career Services led by the Director, Dr. Teresa Okoth.

MMUST’s Biological Sciences Department Takes Mentorship a Notch Higher Through Outreach to Ingotse Boys High School, Kakamega.

Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) Biological Sciences Department has given deeper meaning to Academic mentorship through their spirited Academic talks and outreaches for High School students in Kakamega County. On 22^nd June, 2022, a team from the Biological Sciences Department held an outreach at Ingotse Boys High School in North Butsotso, Navakholo Constituency, Kakamega County with the aim of popularizing Biology as a viable subject for students to pursue. This is part of the implementation of the recommendations of a recent research conducted by the Department, which indicated a slight decrease in the number of students in the field of Biology admitted to Universities.

We are delighted to inform you that today, 29^th June, 2022, MMUST Vice Chancellor, Prof. Solomon Shibairo met the High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK), H.E Amb. Dr. Manoah Esipisu and Mrs waithiengeni Esipisu.

The Diplomatic mission's mandate is to forge closer relations between the people of Kenya and the people of the United Kingdom in pursuit of deeper bilateral and multilateral cooperation in trade and investments, culture, science and technology as well as other fields for mutual benefit. This will assist MMUST to attain greater global status and positioning through H.E Amb. Dr. Esipisu’s plethora of partnerships and networks.
