The Peace and Conflict Studies Major is intended to equip students with awareness and expertise in conflict analysis, deterrence, resolution and renovation. The program focuses principally on conflict at the individual, social group and communal levels.

It addresses the concepts and practices that avert, reduce, and resolve vehement conflict, as well as the construction of normative and formal structures for workable harmony. In this, the program aims to prepare students to engage in the work of peacemaking in a variety of specialized and non-specialized settings, as well to pursue graduate level study in the field
