MMUST fully installs prestigious state of the art 3D Printing Machine

MMUST students and staff now have a reason to smile after the successful installation of a 3-Dimensional printing machine in the university’s Computational and Bioinformatics lab. The machine will be used across interdisciplinary scientific disciplines, ranging from Molecular Biology, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Engineering. The 3D printing machine was donated by the Pro Uni-Wek Programme, funded by The German Academic Exchange Service (Deutscher Akademic Austauschdienst, DAAD), to the Department of Biological Sciences through the influence of Dr. Patrick Okoth.

MMUST-KIPPRA Joint Effort Set to Boost Big Four Agenda through Research and Public Policy

KIPPRA3MMUST Community was on Monday, 18th March 2019, privileged to get comprehensive information on the vital processes in public policy making, facilitated by the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA). The event was spearheaded by the KIPPRA Mentorship Programme for Universities (KMPUS), which took place in MCU 001 at the main campus. The event was coordinated by the director of Career Services MMUST, Dr. Teresa Okoth and Dr. Nancy Nafula, KIPPRA.

MMUST Clinic Offers Free TB Screening and Educative programme

The University Health Services is offering free Tuberculosis (TB) screening and education program at the Main Campus Medical Center, throughout the month of March 2019. This is a run-up to the forthcoming World TB Day on 24th March 2019.

Captain fantastic, Samuel Mbeche and blind winger Clause Sherievo scored brace tries each as MMUST RFC thumped Kisumu RFC 41-20 in a highly physical and confrontation match that went down at MMUST grounds.

University Hold Talks over Security of Non-Resident students

MMUST Student leaders and the University Security Officer, Mr. Julius Mabia, had a meeting with Kakamega Officer Commanding Police Station (OCS) Mr. Mohammed Godana and K9 Deputy In charge, Mr. Evans Kipsang, on Tuesday, 5th March 2019 at the University’s Security Office. This meeting was organized following recent incidences of non- residence students being attacked and robbed, while some killed. The student leaders, together with few other students, presented some of the security concerns faced by the students and possible measures to curb them.

"Tap Indigenous Knowledge and Safeguard it", Prof. Ganesh

The University, through the Directorate of International Relations and Academic Linkages held a virtual meeting with Prof. Ganesh Koramannil of the Charles Darwin University (CDU), Australia on Tuesday, 5th March 2019. This virtual meeting was a follow up by Prof. Ganesh after he made a successful visit to the University from 18th to 22nd February 2019. In his first visit, Prof. Ganesh interacted with MMUST staff, students and the community and made a number of presentations. One of the areas that he emphasized on was on preservation of indigenous knowledge especially in universities. He gave an example of CDU which respects the knowledge and culture of the aboriginal people in the Northern Territory of Australia where the institution is located.

MMUST Students To Be Panelists At The Kippra Mentorship Programme

The Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA), in collaboration with Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, is organizing the KIPPRA Mentorship Programme for Universities (KMPUs), which will take place on Monday, 18th March, 2019 at the Main Campus. This programme, which is designed to link public policy makers and the academia for the purposes of promoting national development, will bring together university students, lecturers, government institutions and the private sector.

MMUST students on Saturday 2nd of March 2019, had an opportunity to showcase their artistic talents on the famous KTN Burudani Television, whose crew camped in Kakamega for the better part of last week.
